Anyone who knows me will know that I love Anthropologie and I have been loving these embellished bow headbands that have been popping up over there recently. They are gorgeous, but I really wanted a January friendly everyday version that I can wear when I have a second-day hair messy bun day. So I do what I always do when I can't find what I want, I DIY, and I thought you might be interested in seeing how you can make your own too.

Make it: Tassel Earrings
I am super excited that statement earrings are a thing again, mostly because it means that I can get my DIY on! Tassels are first on my list and what all my friends will be getting in their stockings this Christmas so I thought I would get a head start. I made a few different pairs some with readymade mini tassels and some with DIY ones in colours couldn't get online. I picked up a few colours on Etsy from Pretty Pretty Beads and My Vintage Charms both based in the UK. They also have jewellery findings if you don't already have some in your crafty stash.
Valentines DIY's to try
OK, ok so we might be a little late to the party, but if you happen to be at home today or have an hour before your partner gets home, we have put together a few of our quick and simple DIY's from our blog history for you.

I don't know about you but I am a gift-wrap junkie, I always try and make the wrap as lovely as the gift inside. These cute DIY options are floating my boat for my Christmas wrapping this year. I love the printable wrap and the hand-tied fabric! I will definitely be using that for some of my gifts, let's face it, I have no shortage of fabric to choose from. Make it: Cute Bunny Toy
Gifts for the little ones this time of year can be so hard, just another plastic toy so soon to be discarded seems such a waste of money. I always like to make something for my niece because although her parents aren't really 'handmade people' I know that she will love it. This year I have made her an advent calendar but she will have that before Christmas so to open on the day I wanted to give her a little handmade friend that she could play with. This little bunny toy is so simple to put together but makes a gorgeous gift for the little ones. Also, being made from cotton fabric there are literally thousands of options for colours and prints to choose from.
Make it: Easy Coasters
A simple DIY today, something I have been meaning to make for ages. It's that time of year when I am embarking on making gifts for my family and friends in time for Christmas. I need to get my butt in gear so some quick and easy makes are the answer. These modern decoupage coasters are a great gift for new homeowners any time of the year but the touch of gold makes them a lovely festive treat, you might even get asked to stay for tea to break them in,

Oh Autumn, we love you so, but (spoiler alert) sometimes the inspiration doesn't strike us and we just want to hibernate rather than make all the fun Halloween themed goodies.
DIY's I want to Try October
I Love Autumn, but I don't want everything I make this month to be Halloween themed so I have been on the look out for simple and fun Autumn themed crafty projects to keep me busy. I found some really lovely autumnal ideas that I will be giving a go this weekend. What about you? What autumnal crafts do you fancy trying this season?

Make it: Faux-dori Notebook Planner
We are back with a fresh DIY for the new season; I am fast becoming a planner addict, but I needed to kerb my spending and find a way to use up some of my already huge stationery stash. When I got a travel planner as a gift a few months ago, I realised I could use up all those piles of thin notebooks if I made myself some of my own Midori style planners. So today I am going to share how I made two of my favourite's.

DIY's I want to Try June
If you thought Pompoms were over, you could not be more wrong! They keep popping up in new and exciting ways all the time. We are off on holiday next week so I wanted some fast fun diy's for the weekend and some of my fave blogs hit it out of the park with pompom ideas!
I am completely in love with this pompom lampshade from Love Megan, and the colourful wall hanging from Sugar and Cloth. I don't have any picnics planned but I am thinking my beach towel could do with a little pompom fringe fun!
Not sure how to make your own pompoms? Check out our PomPoms 3 ways post for some added inspiration!

Makers Month: Make it: Faux Leather tassel Keyring
Today we are handing over the DIY reins to our new Instagram crush Sam from Fantastic Crafty Fox! We are loving her bright pastel clutch bags and cute stationery accessories. A fellow stationery addict to join the party! whoop! Let's dive in shall we...
Hello, I’m Sam from Fantastic Crafty Fox, I make handmade bags and gifts and have just last week, launched my very own Etsy store! I have been asked by the lovely H & Sammy to write a DIY post for you all to show how you can make your very own tassel key ring. It’s really simple and easy to follow!
DIY Tassel Keying
Tools you will need:
Fabric – enough to make a 12cm by 12cm square and a little bit extra. This can be any fabric you like; today I am using a lilac leatherette fabric
Rotary cutter or craft knife or Fabric scissors (normal scissors are good too as long as they are sharp enough)
Ruler or set square
Pencil/Chalk
Cutting mat – again this is optional, more needed if you are using the rotary cutter or craft knife
Glue - this can be super glue or if you have a glue gun, perfect!
Keyring loop
1. First step, draw a square on the back of your fabric measuring 12cm x 12cm
2. From the top of your fabric drop down 2cm and draw a line across the full 12cm.
3. Then below the line mark across 1cm strips going down - this will be your guide when cutting. I have used a pencil so you can see it better but chalk is fine too!
4. Once you have your square and lines added, then you can begin to cut out. I find best to cut around the square first so it's not too fiddly. Once the outside square is cut out then you can begin to cut down along the vertical lines.
5. Next you will need to cut out a separate piece of fabric that is 1cm in width and 8cm length - this will be the loop you will need to attach your keyring to. Once cut out then fold in half.
6. Now place your folded loop on the top left or right hand corner, then begin to roll towards you - make sure you leave about 1cm-2cm unrolled for you to glue.
7. Next is the messy bit! Glue the unrolled section and push together to seal; you can use a glue gun or super glue. Once done leave to dry, this shouldn't take too long.
8. Once dry add on the keyring loop and ta-dah you have yourself a tassel keyring! Add this to your keys or even a bag to accessorize.
I would love to see if you gave this a go! Tag us in your photo makes @fantasticcraftyfox and @liveitloveitmakeit so we can see #makersmonth and #livelovemake
Thanks!
Thanks to you Sam for joining us for Makers Month! I am so jealous of all those cute craft supplies! Can we come round for a craft day at your place please!?

Make it: Easy Phone Cover + Free Printable
One of my favourite things to DIY and decorate are phone cases. You can make really cool looking personalised cases for a fraction of the price you can buy them for in the shops. I have recently got a new phone so I have been making myself a bunch of new cases and thought it would be fun to share how I have made my own collection.
I only actually had to buy one case, a clear case, I got mine from Amazon but you can get these kinds of cases in lots of places.
I cut out the designs using my template then you can simply insert them between your phone and the case.
The best thing is that once you have the template you can use any paper or card you like to insert in the case.
I have made some out of transparent papers I got in my Messy Box, project life cards and scrapbook papers. You could even make some out of wrapping paper or fabric. I would suggest gluing lighter paper and fabrics to stiffer card to make them last longer.
If you want to make the inserts last longer you can always laminate them, but I just use them as they are.

I am so fickle and love to change up my case with my mood so for me this is the perfect solution to stop me having to buy loads of new cases. If you want to have a go at this yourself don't forget to download my designs here >>Free Printable Cover Inserts<< or raid your own stash to make your very own collection.
I am off to decide which one is my favourite!

First I made a template of the back of my phone to use to make all the inserts I want.
Then I print off some patterns that I have designed on Photoshop, you can download these for yourself here >>Free Printable Cover Inserts<< I used some fun brushes in Photoshop and some scans of some watercolour paintings from my sketch book to create these designs. I have an iPhone 6plus so these should be big enough if you print them at 100% for most phones, all you need to do is use your template and cut them down to sizeI cut out the designs using my template then you can simply insert them between your phone and the case.

Make it: Colourful Paint Palette
Its a quick but fun little DIY for you today as I really wanted to use some ceramic pens that had been languishing in my craft stash for a while. I thought what better way to use them than the usual mug or plate designs, than to make a colourful paint palette for the artist in you or as a present.
So, to start, it really is so simple, you will need: a surface to colour in (I used an old soup plate that I usually use as a palette and so it seemed to lend itself well for this project), Ceramic pens/paints or sharpies and an oven.
I decided that I wanted my plate to be the palette it usually is and so splodges of 'paint' were what I was going for. I had these pens, but perhaps if you were using paints you could give them a curvier edge like paint splatters.
I felt I wanted to add some text too, for a little paint inspiration and so I added the 'get creative' text on the edge of the plate.
Then I popped the plate in the oven for around 30 mins at 160 degrees so that the pen paint will stay on the plate when washed. Do remember to use a surface that will be able to withstand the heat in the oven otherwise it will crack. I then added my handmade ceramic pot I use as my water pot (but any mug or cup will do) and its finished, told you it was simple.
You could make this as elaborate as you like with more colours, more text or patterns. You could even have circles of colour and so your actual paint will go in the spaces. It easier on a flat surface, painting onto a mug can be hard due to the round surface, but a bit of practice and also a cloth dampened with warm water will take away any mistakes quickly.
Hope you liked this little tutorial, these pens are so much fun for children to use too, so maybe it could be an Easter Holiday activity to keep those little ones busy if the rain keeps coming.

Make it: Easy Gold Foil Easter Eggs
I am all about making things easy at Easter time, what with Spring cleaning and de-cluttering I want everything to be fresh and minimal. To carry on my grown-up Easter theme this year, I wanted some table centre decorations that were in-keeping with my theme. I had a bunch of bits and bobs laying around that I had from other projects so I whipped up some of the easiest, classy Easter egg decorations I have ever made.
To make some for yourself you will need: Polystyrene eggs, Temporary tattoos (I used metallic ones I got free with a magazine) White acrylic paint, paint brush, water bowl and sponge, Mod Podge (or PVA glue), an old box or polystyrene (to stand your eggs in to dry), needles or wire to stand your eggs on.
Step 1. Start by popping a needle in the end of your eggs.
Step 2. Holding each egg by the needle, paint the whole egg with white acrylic paint. You want it to be acrylic so that when you put the tattoo on, the paint doesn't come off.
Step 3. Carefully push the needle into the box or polystyrene for the egg to dry.
Step 4. Paint all the eggs you want to decorate and leave them to dry thoroughly, then add a second coat and again allow to dry.
Step 5. Next cut out the tattoo that you want to apply and grab your water and sponge.
Step 6. Gently push the tattoo in place, then following the instructions on the pack use the sponge to soak the paper on the back of the tattoo.
Step 7. Carefully remove the paper and smooth down any edges or bubbles in the tattoo with the sponge.
Step 8. Dab the excess water away from the area, then coat with a layer of mod podge to seal it in place, set it back on its pin to dry.
Once they are dry you can hang them up with some bakers twine or like me just pop them on a pretty plate in the centre of your Easter table.
Don't they look classy and so grown up. I love how simple they are and so easy to make. I am making loads to put in a big bowl for when we have family visiting over the Easter weekend. For more Easter DIY ideas head to our Make it page for inspiration.
