Make it: Painted Gem Clutch Bag
Statement necklaces are here to stay and this season they are joined by cool statement clutch bags. I spotted this one from Accessorize - I loved it, but the colour-way wasn't really my cup of tea, so I thought I would have a go at DIY-ing my own. When I saw this necklace from Liberty the idea of spray painting the gems to get the colours I wanted was the perfect solution for what I had in mind. I thought you guys might like to see how easy it was to make yourself a custom gem encrusted clutch bag.

Just occasionally, the craft world finds a new favourite material, like Washi tape, gold spray paint, Sharpies and tissue paper before it, the DIY-ers material of the moment is definitely cement. From door knobs to jewellery this hard, grey, rough material, more at home on a building site, has stolen a place in our hearts. And now that you have seen what these master DIY bloggers have created with it, I am sure you will agree.

Make it: My Heart Belongs to You Necklace
With Valentines less than a week away I thought I would squeeze in a little jewellery DIY you can make before next week. This really sweet glass bottle necklace would be such a lovely accessory to wear on Valentines Day.
Link for the week: Alison Lush
I first came across the subject of this week's Link at Spitalfields market way back in 2011.
I found Alison's stall and instantly fell in love with her jewellery. She makes rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings and its Sterling Silver, so everything you could want really! Well, everything I could want anyway.
I am currently lusting after the wire wrapped silver ring above!
I found the bird necklace above and had to have it. It's so simple and yet really effective on a plain top, which is why I love it so much.
If you are ever at Spitalfields market in London then do check Alison out, or you can just check out her website and buy direct from there. No excuses to not leave with something!
Love it

Favourite Friday: Fabulous Feathers
1.Clay Feather necklace / 2.Paper feather necklace / 3.Leather feather necklace / 4.Gold feather necklace / 5.Fabric feather necklace
I love feathers, I work with them a lot at the Sew Crafty when I am making and adapting fascinators and hats. I love feather print fabric too, I bought this jumper from M&S last week and last summer I made some feather earrings to sell in the Craft Coop Pop up shop in Maidenhead. As much as I like real feathers, I love these alternatives I have found around the web. These are all necklaces made with anything but real feathers. I really love the fabric feathers, follow the link for a tutorial on that one, I am having a go at that today!
What are you up to this weekend? Lots of crafting planned??

Favourite Friday: Sewing Machines
At Sew Crafty we have a gorgeous vintage Singer sewing machine on display that has been in my family for generations. It belonged to my Great Grandmother and my Mum took her sewing O-level on it.
The shape of a sewing machine is quite iconic isn't it, you can tell what it is even from it's silhouette. So this week I have put together a collection of my favourite sewing machine goodies from around the web, enjoy.
Have a great weekend.
