Make it: Anthro Inspired Headband

Anyone who knows me will know that I love Anthropologie and I have been loving these embellished bow headbands that have been popping up over there recently. They are gorgeous, but I really wanted a January friendly everyday version that I can wear when I have a second-day hair messy bun day. So I do what I always do when I can't find what I want, I DIY, and I thought you might be interested in seeing how you can make your own too.

Make it: Drawstring Laundry Bag

Its January and so what better time to clear out all your stuff, organise what's left and of course try your hand at that Learn how to sew, or Sew more things resolution you keep putting on your list every... damn...  year.  Don't worry we all do it, mine is make more clothes, currently have a stash of at least 4 patterns and fabric sitting in a corner... and that's from last year!

Make it: Tassel Earrings

I am super excited that statement earrings are a thing again, mostly because it means that I can get my DIY on! Tassels are first on my list and what all my friends will be getting in their stockings this Christmas so I thought I would get a head start. I made a few different pairs some with readymade mini tassels and some with DIY ones in colours couldn't get online. I picked up a few colours on Etsy from Pretty Pretty Beads and My Vintage Charms both based in the UK. They also have jewellery findings if you don't already have some in your crafty stash.

Make it: Embroidered Palm Leaf Trainers

I have seen a bunch of gorgeous embroidered trainers and shoes around this season and you know I love a bit of embroidery. I don't normally wear a lot of floral prints in my wardrobe so I hadn't been able to find a pair that worked well with my everyday outfits. So I found a pair of plain trainers and sorted out some that would. I embroidered this pair of basic trainers with some simple green palm leaves. Here is how you can make some too.

Make it: Business Card Holder

Well hello there and welcome to another tutorial, just a small one today and it was inspired by last weeks National Stationery Week.  Something I have been meaning to do for a long while was to sort out all the business cards I pick up at all the craft fairs we go to.  I love to be able to go through the cards when looking for designers/makers to talk to for the blog and of course for present inspiration for my friends and family.

Make it: Disney inspired Mouse Ears

Our first tutorial of 2017 and its a nice simple one to get you back into the swing of things.  It also is inspired by all the Disney adventures I saw over the last few months of 2016.  Clearly Disney is still the place to go and so why not make your own ears, for your own adventures or even just to wear around the house!

Make it: Mermaid Papercut with FREE PDF

We have a tutorial today for a present idea this Christmas for the mermaid fan in your life.  It really is a simple project to do and one that you can tailor to the person you are giving it to.

Make it: Fabric House Advent Calendar on Skillshare

If you have been following us on social media you will already know that we published our first tutorial on Skillshare last week! I know, right!

Make it: Cute Bunny Toy

Gifts for the little ones this time of year can be so hard, just another plastic toy so soon to be discarded seems such a waste of money. I always like to make something for my niece because although her parents aren't really 'handmade people' I know that she will love it. This year I have made her an advent calendar but she will have that before Christmas so to open on the day I wanted to give her a little handmade friend that she could play with. This little bunny toy is so simple to put together but makes a gorgeous gift for the little ones. Also, being made from cotton fabric there are literally thousands of options for colours and prints to choose from.

Make it: Easy Coasters

A simple DIY today, something I have been meaning to make for ages.  It's that time of year when I am embarking on making gifts for my family and friends in time for Christmas.  I need to get my butt in gear so some quick and easy makes are the answer.  These modern decoupage coasters are a great gift for new homeowners any time of the year but the touch of gold makes them a lovely festive treat, you might even get asked to stay for tea to break them in,

Make it: Pumpkin Fever

Oh Autumn, we love you so, but (spoiler alert) sometimes the inspiration doesn't strike us and we just want to hibernate rather than make all the fun Halloween themed goodies.

Make it: Cushions 3 ways

We thought it was about time we upped the home factor here on the blog, after all Autumn is all about getting comfortable and perhaps nesting in your new home and so we thought why not give you three different ways you can change up your sofa style with cushions.

Make it: Faux-dori Notebook Planner

We are back with a fresh DIY for the new season; I am fast becoming a planner addict, but I needed to kerb my spending and find a way to use up some of my already huge stationery stash. When I got a travel planner as a gift a few months ago, I realised I could use up all those piles of thin notebooks if I made myself some of my own Midori style planners.  So today I am going to share how I made two of my favourite's.

Makers Month: Make it: Embroidery Jewellery by Messy Brunette

We are in full Makers Month swing now and so we thought we would bring you a Guest Tutorial from the very lovely Maura from The Messy Brunette who we came across on one of our many Instagram trawls.  We just love her crafty projects and she has a mean crochet hook to get through all those crochet projects.  For us, Maura decided to share how to make your own Embroidery Jewellery, which is a lovely simple and easy to do in front of the TV or sat in the garden project.  So over to her ...

Fun with Bias Binding

Lets take a look at another tricky sewing technique to master, which is Bias Binding.  Of course once you have mastered it you can use it for so many things and so it really is a good one to get to grips with.

Make it: Travel Fabric Dolls House

Last year I made a cute little dolls house in a suitcase which was more for me than anything, so this year I thought I would make one that my niece can actually play with. She loves her dolls house but is heading off on holiday next month so I thought a small fabric version that she could take with her would be the perfect compromise and wins me points to my Auntie of the year award!

Make it: Fabric Card Wallet

The summer holidays are nearly here and with that it means day trips with the kids, or day trips away from the kids! Even those of us who don't have the long holidays want to get out and enjoy this (finally) summer we seem to be having! Yesssss.
