DIY's I Want to Try: The Craft Studio Books

I have a whole weekend to myself this week so I am going to lock myself up in my craft room with a long list of projects to get stuck into. The giveaway we are running with 'The Craft Studio' ends tonight so I thought I would highlight some of the projects in the books that I want to have a go at myself.

My 'We Make Collective' dying kit arrived a couple of weeks ago, so I want to have a go at the dip dye tassels from the pompom and tassels book. I have a ton of little canvas bags that need a bit of cheering up so I want to have a go at printing some up with cute designs. I love these little speech bubble brooches, I think I will have a go at some small ones to add to my growing collection of pin badges and last but not least another dye project. I don't know about you but with the 5p bag charge my totes are getting more use than ever so I am planning on giving some of them a makeover.

There is still time to enter the competition, but hurry it closes tonight (18th March at midnight), head over to our original post to find out how to enter to win all four of these cute books.

I hope you have a fun weekend planned, enjoy!

DIY's I Want to Try February

A quick little post for today, a selection of DIY's that are on my to-do list. I love this peg board sign, the perfect combination of statement and storage. These chocolates are so cute and remind me of the ones I bought as a gift for my mum before Christmas and so I am looking forward to having a go at making my own now. How yummy are these candle holders! So simple but they look so classy and these adorable paper bag planters look like so much fun.

Are you planning a romantic weekend with your valentine? Or are you going to be DIYing all weekend like me? I will be cooking our usual Claridge pie on Sunday to celebrate with my lovely Hubby, but I have to have something to do whilst he plays X-com all day, hehe. Have a good one whatever you have planned.

Let's meet yearly roundup

It's coming to the end of the year and not only that but it's the last few online shopping days to get items in time for Christmas and so we thought that not only would we do a round-up of all our great "Let's Meet" interviews this year, but also it might help with those last minute present ideas.

June's Instagram round-up

The end of the month is nearly here and so I thought it was about time for a little Instagram round-up.  If you have been watching our Instagram recently you will know that we took a little break to Barcelona and so that features quite a bit, but who doesn't love holiday pictures!  Also as usual food is a big feature, its a big feature in my life and so it would only be right to show it off.

Ingrediants-in-a-Jar Gifts

This time of year is all about the gift ideas - you may have noticed from our posts this month, that we have a gifts for different people theme.  I thought I would share some simple foodie ideas with you today.  Perfect for the person who loves food most in your life, but without the effort.

I also love the fact that they are presents in very cool jars!  I mean, who doesn't love a mason jar!  You could even put it in a jar with a handle so they can use it like the mugs above - one of the very reasons I love going to giraffe is for these mugs of lemonade!

Toffee Blondies in a Jar
http://www.bhg.com/recipe/brownies/toffee-blondies-in-a-jar/
First up is from the Better Homes and Gardens website and it is Toffee Blondies, yum yum.  I made a Jar of treats of coconut and hazelnut blondies last year and she said they were super yummy.  So easy to make too, just don't forget to add the wet ingredients information and cooking method and you are good to go!
Quick Bread in a Bottle

Next up, is something for the bread rather than cake lovers - although it is a sweet bread so not entirely a sandwich loaf kind of present.  I love that this jar looks like a milk bottle too.  Look out now for bottles and jars you could use and then when it comes to Christmas you have a whole lot to choose from.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Just look at this jar, how could you not want to eat this little lot!  This one is from the Made with Pink blog which has a lot of pink on it, of course.  There is also an online shop and great conversion chart which is very useful for converting from US recipes.

Mason Jar Meals

Last up is a savoury Jar!  Lets face it, it is Salad in a Jar, but just look how much better it looks and giving all the recipe ideas along with some jars, would make a great present.  You could add tags onto each jar and so they will know what to do when they want to do it for themselves too.

So, what do you think?  I think my favourite is the Toffee Blondies (without nuts of course for me) or the savoury selection.  Maybe I could just give myself both of these for Christmas?  Who would you make yours for?

I am off to look out for some jars and bottles!
