How We Wear...New Look Special

If you have been reading our blog for a while, you will know that we are big New Look fans, so you can imagine how excited we were when they got in touch and asked if we would be up for a 'How We Wear' feature around some of their pieces. We both love the variety of styles, I Love their Plus Size Inspire brand and we both love how affordable their ranges are without compromising on quality. To put a twist on it this month we gave ourselves the challenge of choosing pieces for each-other to style based of three themes.  Afternoon tea, Festival and Girls Night Out were our themes and H and I picked out three items from New Look and New Look Inspire.

Afternoon Tea

For Afternoon tea, H picked me this amazing blazer, I love the colour and the lightweight soft fabric makes it a dream to wear. I paired it with a monochrome dress and turquoise accessories.

Blazer from New Look/ Bag from Ollie & Nic/ Shoes from Dorothy Perkins/ Dress from Yours/ Necklace from New Look.

Sammy chose me this lovely pleated chiffon skirt. I love these style of skirts as they are so easy to wear and comfortable, but always look smart. I paired it with my favourite blue accessories and my amazing Cambridge Satchel.

Skirt from New Look/ Bag from Cambridge Satchel Company/ Shoes from Clarks/ Top from New Look/ Jewellery from Primark & Native Wolf Jewellery.

Festival

Sammy picked out this Denim Dress for my Festival look, it is really comfortable and great for pairing with my new favourite kimonos. I went to town and mixed and matched my floral accessories. I love these floral trainers for summer.

Dress From New Look/ Necklace from New Look/ Bangles from New Look/ Kimono from Boo Hoo / Trainers from Deichmann/ Flower crown by me (DIY here)

H picked me out some shorts (similar here) which I was unsure about at first, but I am in love with them! They are so comfy. I wore them loads on my recent holiday to Austria as they were great for travelling.  I paired them with this mint tunic tucked in as I love mint with denim.

Shorts from New Look/ Tunic from New Look/ Necklace by me/ Bag from River Island/ Trainers from Sports Direct.

Girls Night Out

H was onto a winner when she chose me this amazing Tunic, I already have this shape of top/dress in a few colours and I adore this print! I have an addiction to neon and acid greens and yellows at the moment so it was a perfect pick for a night out. I wore it with my favourite black skinny and strappy wedges.

Tunic from New Look/ Necklace from Accessorize/ Wedges from New Look/ Jeans from Dorothy Perkins/ Clutch from New Look.

I love the versatility of this Kimono, I have worn it with a black leather belt and added some studded accessories to give this very floral number a rockier edge. Over my favourite skinnys it is really pretty for a night out with the girls.

Kimono from New Look/ Necklace from New Look/ Jeans from Topshop/ Shoes from Topshop/ Clutch from River Island/ Belt from H&M.

Let us know in the comments below how you would wear the items we chose? Would you team the blazer with jeans or the kimono with a midi skirt? We would love to know how you would wear these pieces.

A massive thank you to New Look and the Inspire team.

Our Blogtacular Wishlist

H and I are off to Blogtacular next weekend for two days of networking, learning and blogging fun. There are loads of amazing bloggers and journalists scheduled to speak, as well as workshops and networking events so we need to be comfortable but smart enough to meet some of our blogging idols and piers. We have been trying to get ourselves ready by making lists of things we need to take with us, and more importantly what we are going wear!

Day one is about finding out where we are going to be, meeting all of our fellow attendees and some of the amazing speakers. We have both gone with neutral basics and added pops of colour, H with a bag and me with my dress.

H, Day One: CardiganNecklaceBootsBagDress.

Sammy, Day One: Dress: Boots: Ipad sleeve: Necklace.

Day two is about learning and more importantly comfort, so we have both gone for statement accessories to embellish our cosy outfits.
H Day Two: Jeans: Necklace: Shoes: BagTop.

Sammy, Day Two: TopBagNecklaceShoesTrousers.

Are you heading to Blogtacular? What have you planned on wearing or taking with you? Let us know in the comments below. There are still tickets available if you are a blogger or want to learn more about blogging, or if you are thinking about starting a blog, head over to the event page for more details.

Love it: Christmas Jumpers

Top row L to R: Max C snowflake from ASOS, Black Snowflake from H&M, Christmas Reindeers from River Island.
Bottom row L to R: Polar Bear from Asda, Understated in blue, white and red from Tesco, Snowmen from Vardagen via Etsy.

The Christmas Jumper has been seeing a revival over the last few years.  Gone are the days of worrying about getting a Mr Darcy rudolph jumper, as sometimes the tackier the better!  and, don't even get me started on onesies, but they seem to be in on the act too!

I was looking around at the Jumpers as I was going to take part in Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day, last Friday (what a way to jazz up Friday the 13th!).  The ones above were a few of my favourites and so I thought I would share them with you guys for all your jumper needs.

In the end I decided to give the money I would have spent on getting a new jumper to Save the Children, rather than buying a jumper I didn't really need and only donating £1, I thought I would donate more, go me.

Those who did join in though looked amazing, you can check out the site here for a snapshot of what was worn and if everyone who did it donated £1, then I think Save the Children did very very well.

I love donating to Charity at Christmas as a very worthy cause gets some extra cash and I do get the feel good factor myself.  My family and I do small gifts and then give to charity and so every year I look at a different charity, whether that be home or away.

What's your favourite feel good factor about Christmas?  I know people who help at Shelter and Crisis every year and I used to run an event for older people who would normally be on there own on Christmas Day, which without the volunteers really wouldn't have happened, so there is plenty of feel good factor out there too.

Dreaming of my very own... Handbag Collection

When I say Handbag 'collection' I don't mean a collection  of handbags, I have lots already. What I mean is a line of bags designed by me for sale in retail shops and boutiques. I am a handbag addict, I think it is something to do with the fact that one size fits all, no awkward dressing room moments or disappointments.

I have always liked the idea of a designer handbag but I am to fickle and like to change my bag too often so can never justify the cost. I have a lot of mid priced bags, I love River Island and Accessorize bags the most, I think because of the detailing they use.  I do own one designer handbag, it's from Burberry and it was a present for my 21 st birthday. I have only used it twice, mostly because it was in the early 2000's and fake Burberry tartan was everywhere which put me off using it back then. These days it just looks a little dated, but I will never get rid of it, It will come back in t fashion one day!

My design

The bag I made from my design

Back to my little dream... As well as my High Street collection of bags, I make and customise my own. My dream would be to collaborate with a High Street store and design my own range of Handbags. I often find myself doodling designs when I am on the phone, I have a whole book full of ideas.

It is good to dream big!

have a lovely weekend.

Sammy's Holiday Wishlist

H and I are off on holiday soon so I have been updating my summer wardrobe with a few bits and pieces, these are my top wishlist items to get before we go away.  I hate spending lots of money on clothes and accessories I only wear on holiday so all these items are under £30 and available on the High Street.

We have some really fun posts set for whilst we are away for you. We wont be able to answer emails or comments for a week or so but we will catch up as soon as we are home.
Where are you guys off to on holiday this year?

Have a great weekend.

#FashionTargetsBreastCancer

You may have noticed our newest addition to the blog, the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer banner, If you click on it it will take you through to Breakthrough Breast cancers 'Wear your Support' page where you can find out about all about their latest campaign.
I have always loved this charities selection of fashion fundraising products, they have their finger firmly on the fashion pulse, and always seem to pull off on trend pieces that aren't too in your face 'charity'.
This year they have done another stellar job with the help of some of our favourite high street stores of creating a collection of super wearable pieces.
These are my favourites that I will be adding to my summer wardrobe, whilst feeling very smug  that 30% of the cost is going to help this Fantastic charity.

I love the summery tie dye towel, great for our holiday, and that Warehouse feather top is gorgeous! My top pick though has to be the Laura Ashley stripe dress, beautiful!

Check out the whole collection on their website, there are all the usual ways to follow all the news from Fashion Targets Breast cancer, don't forget to #WearYourSupport
''2013 is the year Fashion Targets Breast Cancer focuses on unity. Together we are stronger and this year’s campaign will see us unite mothers and daughters with leading high street and online retailers to encourage you to Wear Your Support.
This year’s campaign is fronted by two of the world’s most famous mother and daughter duos, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne and Pearl and Daisy Lowe, conveying strength, support and unity against breast cancer.
The range is full of exclusive pieces that can be teamed up for any occasion throughout the Great British seasons: day or night, home or away, rain or shine. Whatever your age, whatever your style, whatever your budget, there is something for you to wear with pride and get involved.
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer is the UK’s leading charity fashion campaign. Now in its seventeenth year, the campaign raises vital money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Each year 50,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer. We need you to Wear Your Support for these women and unite to stop women dying from this disease.''
Have a great weekend.

Sammy's What's in my bag

I always love a 'what's in my handbag' post on other peoples blogs, it connects with my nosy tendencies. I love to see what other people wear and how they live, so I thought it was about time I did my own.

Friday Favourites: River Island bags

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

Handbags as a rule are easy to buy, because they always have one in your size! I have a few (dozen) but I can always find room for just one more. H helped me last summer to de-clutter my stash (i.e. make room for more)
My favourite place to buy bags is by far, the rock chic of the high street, River Island.
This season is no exception, I am a little worried that ALL of these from my Friday faves may end up in my bag cupboard (not at all worried)

Have a great weekend, I am off to max my credit card on RI's website
