Well, it wouldn't be right to talk about all these things we do and not talk about the great British Staycation. You might be trying to save a bit of cash, not bothered by going abroad or just want to fit in a cheeky weekend away in the sunshine (whilst its still here in the UK!) and where could be better than one of our favourite places, Brighton.
We were lucky enough to go to a Hen party this year on a very sunny weekend recently and so we could get these great pics for you. H even managed a double with a second hen party the weekend after! Hi Girls - just checking your reading.
We thought we would share a few pictures with you and a few things you can do when you are in the lovely seaside town. Of course, there are plenty of other places too and so please do comment below, so that we can go and visit the next time we go - we do try and go once a year and so always looking for new places to visit.
From top L to R:
The Beach - Where would Brighton be without their beautiful beach. This one is stony rather than sandy, but what better way to relax on a weekend than a sit down with an Ice cream listening to the waves.
Fish and Chips - We went to the famous Palm Court Restaurant on Brighton Pier which was loverly, Fish, chips and mushy peas, yummy!
Unlimited - An amazing shop full of design, what's not to love.
Seagulls - Well, what can I say, they are everywhere in Brighton and it wouldn't be the seaside without them. They are huge and can go for your food and we had to keep our windows closed in the rooms because they had a tendency to want to come in.
Brighton Pier - Obviously you cannot go to Brighton without going to the pier - its an institution.
Brighton Pier Rides - If you are into them, you just have to do it. Ghost town, rollercoaster or dodgems? Or just eating fish and chips or those hot donuts! yum
Looking around you - There are plenty of decorated buildings from Hot air balloons to Alice in wonderland and everything in between. Just look up.
A boat trip - We went on a boat trip from the Marina all the way around the old pier and back again. It was lovely to see Brighton from the sea and of course have a few drinks along the way.
West Pier - We got to see it from the boat, but there is something so haunting about the old pier that just waits to be renovated or fall completely into the sea.
So that's a bit of a round up of some things we have done in Brighton and you could go and have a look at too of course, along with exploring yourself. If you know of anywhere we should check out next time, then add it to the comments below and we will go have a look see.
Where are you going on your staycation this year? I have friends going to the New Forest and Cornwall, fingers crossed the weather stays good and we have no more storms like Bertha!
