Live it: Birmingham day trip

As the title suggests we went for a day trip at the weekend!  We took in the sights of Birmingham, well more like a whistle-stop tour of 3 places, but we did well as it was only a day.

We went up to Birmingham for a talk on Pinterest by Rosalilium who is a UK Brand ambassador for Pinterest, which was super interesting and has got us thinking of all kinds of fun things we can do with it now, have you seen our boards? Which ones are your fave's?
We got there a little early, after a very early wake up call and then soaked up all of Elizabeth's knowledge, before being whisked off to Aluna bar to mingle and watch a little cocktail display.  It is always nice to have a chat with some new faces and we got to finally, meet up with Fran from Fall for DIY and Katie from Ceramic Magpie, as well as a little fangirl moment to meeting the lovely Alice who is the editor of Blogosphere Magazine! Not too shabby.  Also, H seemed to have filled her boots with Light fixture pictures!  interior addict at work.

Then we hotfooted it over to The People Shop as they were having a celebration for their 16 year anniversary!  Wowzers!  and a book signing from Selina Lake for her new book Botanical Style - which also shows what a small world we live in as she doesn't live too far away from H.  It was great to see the shop in all it's glory and catch up with Allison, who is super lovely and so welcoming and friendly, one of those people who really just puts you at ease and gives you rum and cakes of course!

Then, it was a quick taxi ride back into the city and a whisk past the Bullring, before getting back on the train home!  But don't you worry, we used that train journey well for a little blog talk, we end up always being more productive out of both of our own homes!  ha ha.

We are definitely going to go back as it was not long enough to go to all the places we wanted to see and have a proper catch-up with people.  Have you been?  Where would you recommend we go next time?

H & Sammy, xxx
