Link for the week: Craftivists

More and more we are seeing that people are getting involved with helping people in their community - which is brilliant!  Maybe it's the recession or the fact that we are more aware of what's going on in the world around us with the media being as it is, but whatever it is people seem to be coming together to help other people!

Not necessarily DIY SOS style or fundraising for Comic relief - although both I am a big fan of. But it's the smaller things we can all do to help other people with the skills and knowledge we have.  This weeks link is one of those projects which has resonated with many and brought more crafty people together!

Craftivists - ordinary crafty people getting involved - make jigsaw pieces to be added together for an art installation to raise awareness of world hunger and injustice. It's all there to support the Save the Children's Race Against Hunger Campaign and that's something we can all want to be part of! Check out the website for more information if you want to get involved or want to see where the installation will be going.

I love all these projects utilising the crafty community skills, it just goes to show that with a little imagination and thought we can improve people's lives, including our own! I am not going to get all righteous here but also think that if your passionate about something then you should go for it!

Is there anything that you guys have got involved in? Let us know in the comments below.
